On Monday, June 22nd, the national final of the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) gathered twelve start-ups coming from the country’s three regions. In front of a jury made of investors, experts and representatives of the economic world, these innovative businesses presented their entrepreneurial project in the hope of landing a spot on the international scene.
Three innovative start-ups to represent Wallonia
Picked for their growth potential, their innovative nature and their international ambitions, the three Walloon finalist businesses operate in strategic fields: DrugSprint, Fullyn and AgriParcelles.
On that occasion, the three Walloon start-ups represented Wallonia during the national final:
DrugSprint (Liège) – Walloon 2026 laureate
Spin-off from the Liège University, DrugSprint develops a 3D-printed personalised medicine technology, enabling pharmacies and hospitals to produce treatments adapted to the specific needs of each patient.
Fullyn
A SaaS solution helping construction companies to optimise the financial monitoring of their projects and improve their profitability through the digitalisation of processes.
Agriparcelles
A digital platform simplifying the management of agricultural property as well as the exchanges between owners and farmers.
A stepping stone towards internationalisation
At the end of the competition, DrugSprint was nominated as the Walloon winner. This distinction allows them to take part in the international phase of the Entrepreneurship World Cup, where the business will represent the Walloon entrepreneurial ecosystem against entrepreneurs from all over the world.
Beyond the competition, the Entrepreneurship World Cup is a unique visibility and development opportunity for young innovating start-ups. The twelve finalists benefited from a national exposure as well as a pitch training in front of a public made of investors and entrepreneurship experts.
A collective mobilisation in favour of entrepreneurship
The event was organised in partnership with Voka, Beci and AKT, in collaboration with GEN-Global, WE, finance&invest.brussels and PMV.
This initiative highlights the actors of the Belgian ecosystem’s desire to support the emergence and the growth of new high-potential businesses.
For Olivier Vanderijst, President of our Direction Committee:
« Sensibilisation to entrepreneurship is one of WE’s strategic ambitions. Thus, supporting the GEN competition is an obvious choice for us. It reveals talents every year, and who knows, tomorrow’s future unicorns ».
A concrete support for the Walloons finalists
At the end of the selection process, a winner is nominated in each Region. These three entrepreneurs benefit from a support allowing them to access the international programs of the GEN network, such as the Entrepreneurship World Cup.
The independent jury tasked with the selection gather investors, experts and key actors of the Belgian entrepreneurship ecosystem.
All the finalists also receive a voucher offered by the chambers of commerce. For the Walloon start-ups, together with AKT and BDO, WE developed a specific support package including:
- personalised support by the teams of WE Accompagnement & Sensibilisation and their partner operators;
- access to a EuroQuity pitch session or an exchange with one of Wallonie Entreprendre’s financing analysts;
- a half-day of strategical and financial advice offered by BDO;
- an increase in visibility through a Startup Story published on the StartUp.Wallonia platform.
Encouraging tomorrow’s entrepreneurs
Through its support to the Entrepreneurship World Cup, Wallonie Entreprendre reasserts its engagement in favour of sensibilisation to entrepreneurship, support of innovating start-ups as well as the development of a new generation of entrepreneurs able to shine well beyond the Walloon border.
